Hello, and thank you for checking out Happy-ology, and now (presumably) wanting to learn more about me.

Probably the best way to learn about me is to read the words on this website. Even my husband says he sometimes learns more about me in reading the blogs than when we are having deep conversations. But I'll try to let you know some things you might not find otherwise.

1) I have a wicked sense of humour, and a passion for coming up with irregular sayings (well, float a log down the stream, probably you've seen in this in the writing)

2) I love to read and write science-fiction and fantasy novels. To me, they're a perfect way to make commentary on the human condition, using vast and interesting metaphors. For the same reason, I love Star Trek.

3) I am a classic over-achiever. With awards in writing, horseback riding, math, physics, and all-around good-personedness, I often don't know when to stop.

4) I don't like TV (the one exception being Star Trek, well, and The Good Place). It's not tactile enough for me, and doesn't stimulate my imagination as much as a good book.

5) I hate socks, but they are a necessity here in the frigid North, which I also have a love-hate relationship with.

6) I am most afraid of.... Pomeranians. As a veterinarian, these are some of the hardest dogs to read and manage, meaning I've had more tangles with Poms than any other breed. They are cute though, I guess.

Thanks for stopping by to check out Happy-ology. The thing that I love most in this world is deep conversation and introspection about spirituality and the human condition, so send me a note, because I'd love to hear your thoughts on deep, meaningful things (including Star Trek).
